Recommended clothing
The weather can be changeable. Nights can be quite chilly.
Layered clothing is recommended.
Friday, October 8
Friday night is optional. No activities are planned, but it
will be a great night to spend camping with your child. There will be little
moonlight, so you may want to plan some stargazing.
You may check in anytime after 2:00. Jim Hollenhorst will
try to arrive by 4:00, but if you are first to arrive, please select four
campsites for our use, preferably adjacent to each other. We will try to leave
word and/or signs to direct you to our campsites.
Select your own spot in one of our campsites and pitch a
tent. Bring whatever camping gear you think might be useful for the group and we
will share stoves, lanterns, water jugs, etc. Bring your own Friday dinner,
Saturday breakfast and lunch. In the past, some families set up camp, and then
went out for Friday dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Saturday, October 9

Things to Bring
Firewood
We would appreciate it if each family could bring one small box of firewood for
our group campfire.
Food
Please bring your own food for Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, Saturday
lunch, and any between meal snacks or drinks. Saturday dinner and Sunday
breakfast will be organized by the Expedition.
Personal Items
Don't forget to bring personal eating items (plates, cups, silverware, etc.)
and camping gear. We won't all need to bring stoves, lanterns, and the like, but
bring it if you have it.
Telescope/Binoculars
The moon will not rise until the wee hours, so if the sky is clear it should
be a great time to observe the stars and planets. If you have a small telescope,
you might want to bring it along.
